Description

Hedrin lotion contains dimeticone, a physical (non-insecticide) treatment for head lice that works by coating and suffocating the lice rather than using chemicals, which means lice can't build up resistance to it.

Usage

Apply generously to dry hair and scalp, covering all the hair from roots to tips. Leave on for at least 8 hours or overnight, then wash out with normal shampoo and comb through with a fine-tooth comb while wet. Repeat after 7 days to catch any newly hatched lice.

Side Effects

Scalp irritation is uncommon. Because this isn't an insecticide, there's very little risk of the whole-body side effects sometimes seen with older chemical treatments.

Warnings

Check the whole household for lice, and treat anyone found to have them at the same time to prevent reinfection. This product is flammable while wet, keep away from naked flames, cigarettes and hair dryers until fully dry.
