Description

Usage

Apply to the cold sore and surrounding area every 4 hours (5 times a day) at the very first sign of tingling or a sore appearing, and continue for 5 days. Wash your hands before and after applying to avoid spreading the virus.

Side Effects

Mild stinging, dryness or flaking of the skin at the application site can occur, but this is generally well tolerated.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is aciclovir 5% w/w.

Warnings

Start treatment as early as possible, ideally at the first tingling sensation, before the sore is fully visible, as this gives the best chance of a shorter episode. Avoid sharing lip products, towels or utensils while you have an active cold sore, and avoid close contact (like kissing) until it's healed.
