Clotrimazole 500mg Pessary (Vaginal Thrush Treatment)

Description

Usage

Insert the pessary as high into the vagina as comfortable, ideally at night, using the applicator provided. It's a one-off single dose. Avoid using tampons, douches or spermicides for several days afterwards, as these can affect how well it works.

Side Effects

Local burning, itching or irritation around the vagina can occur, especially in the first day or so after use. Serious allergic reactions are rare.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is clotrimazole 500mg.

Warnings

This product can weaken latex condoms and diaphragms for up to 5 days after use, so use an alternative method of contraception during this time if relevant. If you're pregnant, only use this if a doctor or pharmacist has advised it, and avoid using the applicator in the first trimester. See a doctor if this is your first episode of thrush, if you're under 16 or over 60, or if symptoms don't clear up.
