Ovarian reserve check

AMH, an indication of how many eggs you have left

Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH)Finger prickResults in about 5 minutes

Anti-Müllerian hormone is produced by developing follicles, so it gives an indication of remaining egg supply. Unlike most hormone tests it stays fairly stable across the menstrual cycle, so it can be taken on any day. It says something about quantity rather than quality, and does not by itself predict whether you can conceive.

Who it is for

  • Anyone planning IVF or egg freezing
  • People with irregular periods or suspected PCOS
  • Anyone thinking about the timing of starting a family

Getting ready

AMH, Egg count, Fertility, IVF, PCOS

What happens next
