Travelling to Thailand

Whether you are island hopping in the south, exploring Bangkok or trekking in the north, what you need depends on where you are going and how long for. Rural and longer stays carry more risk than a week in a resort.

Malaria in Thailand

Malaria risk is low and limited to some border areas. Tablets are not usually needed for the main tourist routes, but bite avoidance matters everywhere.

Also worth knowing

Dengue

Present year round, spread by day-biting mosquitoes. There is no tablet for it, so bite avoidance is the protection.

Rabies

Dogs and macaques around temples and markets. Never approach an animal to feed it.
